36. Dr. J. Jack House
56 Main Street
ca.1850
A one and one-half story, two-by-three bay, wood-frame, gabled-ell,
Greek Revival style dwelling. The gable fronted main block features
a full pediment with three original frieze windows. A recessed
entrance with a Greek Revival surround survives. A secondary
entrance is located on the west facade of the side wing. The entry
is composed of a new door set within an intact Greek Revival
surround. Windows throughout the house, except for the frieze
windows, have been replaced with non-historic units. The building is
now sheathed with vinyl siding and applied window and door cornices.
