49. Patrick McMichael House
17 First Street
ca.1830

A two-story, three-by-three bay, brick side hall plan late Federal style home. The house rests on a cut stone foundation set into a hillside. A moderately gabled roof is flanked by stepped parapet walls with built in chimneys. Fenestration is regular and symmetrical. Windows contain non-historic replacement units. The lintels and sills are of cut stone. The facade (east elevation), which is above the raised walk-out basement on this elevation, is highlighted by a finely detailed surround composed of engaged Doric columns, and leaded sidelights.
