51. Henry Slingerland House
9 First Street
The Henry Slingerland House, was located at 9 First Street it was
demolished and site now vacant lot. It was built around 1867, was a
confident Second Empire residence. Its had characteristic Mansard
roof was embellished with molded window cornices, elaborate
chimneys, an ornate frieze, and a bracketed cornice. An earlier
Federal-era structure, was still visible at the rear of the
building, marked the property's longer history.
